Young bowler Mohammad Ilyas and West Indian all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite have joined Multan Sultans before of their second match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 against Quetta Gladiators.
Sultans are preparing to make a comeback against Quetta Gladiators after losing to Lahore Qalandars in their first encounter.
The Sultans received back-to-back bad news before their second game. Shahnawaz Dahani, who suffered a finger injury during the opening game, was unable to rehabilitate and was ruled out of the league. The pacer suffered a fracture in his bowling hand finger, according to Sultans.
llyas, who went undrafted in the players’ draught for this season, took Dahani’s spot and joined the squad. Over the course of his brief career, Dahani has taken 55 wickets in 41 T20 matches. He was rated the best bowler in the PSL 2021, which Sultans won.
Meanwhile, Wayne Parnell of South Africa will miss this year’s PSL owing to injury. Brathwaite has taken his position on the team.
Sultans were defeated by Qalandars by a single run in their first encounter. Zaman Khan protected 15 runs in the final over to help his team win the game.
