Multan Sultans defeated Islamabad United by 52 runs at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Sunday in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight match.
Islamabad were all out for 138 in 17.5 overs while chasing a 191-run total.
Islamabad, who were 112-4 at one point, lost their last six wickets for just 26 runs.
Rassie van der Dussen led the way with 49 runs in 32 balls, thanks to five fours and a six.
Multan’s bowler of choice was pacer Abbas Afridi, who finished with statistics of 4-22 in three overs..
Meanwhile, Usama Mir thwarted Islamabad’s run-chase by taking two wickets in one over, including Colin Munro and Shadab Khan.
Mohammad Ilyas and Ihsanullah each took two wickets.
Previously, the hosts scored 190-4 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to fifties from David Miller and Mohammad Rizwan.
Miller hit 52 runs in 25 balls, including three fours and four maximums, to give his team some timely runs at the conclusion of the innings. During his amazing innings, the South African hit three sixes in a row off Islamabad captain Shadab Khan.
Meanwhile, skipper Rizwan scored 50 runs off 38 balls, including five fours and a six.
Rilee Rossouw added 36 runs in 30 balls after scoring 50 runs in the previous two games. Kieron Pollard, on the other hand, stayed unbeaten on 32 runs from 21 balls.
It should be mentioned that after winning the toss, Islamabad United chose to bowl first against Multan Sultans.
For United, Rumman Raees, Mohammad Wasim, Shadab, and Tom Curran each took one wicket.
Both teams had made one alteration for the match. Asif Ali was replaced by Abrar Ahmed for Islamabad, while Sameen Gul was replaced by Mohammad Ilyas for Multan.
