RAWALPINDI: Lahore Qalandars set a new Pakistan Super League (PSL) record on Thursday when they defeated Islamabad United at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

The Qalandars, captained by Shaheen Shah Afridi, crushed United by a massive 119-run margin, setting a new record.

The Qalandars are also the only side to win two matches by more than a century in a single PSL season, one today against United and the other on February 27 against the same team (110 runs).

Prior to Qalandars, Multan Sultans held the record for the most margin of victory, defeating Quetta Gladiators by 117 runs in Lahore the previous season.

With their remarkable victory, the Qalandars have secured a place in the tournament’s qualifying round, and they will be seen in action on March 15 at their home field, Gaddafi Stadium.
